Yeshu Song Book

The word glory is not so much an earthly word, as it is a spiritual word. Glory is a state of dwelling in great triumph and grandeur.

Some in this world might look or think of glory as an unusual enlightening experience. An unexplained light that flashed, or a hallow that is created to impart a sense of above normal experience.

I see some attributing glory to their gods by lighting up the surrounding with great lights, colors, great religious music, noise with crowds of devotees prostrate before such lifeless idols loaded with ornaments of Gold and other precious material.

But I see a misnomer in thinking this to be ‘Glory’ as the devotees think..
At the same time, I will never ever fully comprehend the great glory that I see, experience and witness in the Life of Lord Jesus Christ.

The verse above declares, he living in our neighborhood as an ordinary man. And those who have never seen God were able to experience the presence of God by seeing him. And the essence of this glory was in Grace and Truth.

• I see his glory when I see him willing to dwell with me
• I see his glory when he chose to call himself the son of Man, in other words an ordinary man
• I saw his glory when he sat on the well with the Samaritan woman who was married five times and lived with the sixth man not her husband, and he found her to be a potential worshipper who can worship God in truth and Spirit
• I saw his glory when he was the lone voice speaking to rescue the woman caught in adultery, and did not condemn her
• I saw his glory when he asked little children to come and asked the grown ups to become like children.
  Yes his glory was seen when he calmed the sea and rebuked the wind, when he gave eyes to the blind and raised the dead. The son of God walked around in Palestine bringing the love of God, forgiveness and salvation

And yes I saw the ultimate glory when he asked the Father to glorify him and father agreed and allowed him to be crucified to bring salvation to the hopeless sinners.
And then I saw his glory when the creator of the universe is hanging on a wooden cross in the outskirts of a city, beaten, tortured and nailed to bleed and die.

And I keep seeing his glory when he broke the band of death, the tomb could not hold him, he walked alive triumphing over death.

And then his glory was spectacular when he called the simple Galileans to the mount of olives, blessed them and ascended to heaven with a promise to return back to the earth.

And today I see the true glory of the son of man, seated in the right hand of God crowned forever and worshiped for ever as is seen in Hebrews 1:3. Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

What a glory!!!

Revolution is always brought about by the powerful in the world. They use all power options to force a change. Those who are strong and have power at their disposal, force their ideology on others and rule over them. They bring about a change by force and do not allow freedom of self will, for the people and call this a Revolution. China’s communist leader Mao said: Revolution comes from the barrel of a Gun.

Social, political and religious revolutions:
Religious wars have been fought, and force has been used, religious cities and so called holy places have been war ravaged. Religious leaders have fought wars and taught their followers to use weapons. And forced conversion of countless people into their religion. Their morality is colored with blood.

Fascist mentality:
Organizations become powerful; they use every force to dominate on people. They have the name of God, just on their lips, but violence is in their hands and hearts.
The truth is, that we are transformed gradually into a personality of our belief. In other words what we become what we believe. The Doctrine we follow shapes our direction. A disciple becomes more like his guru.

Today many Fascist organizations, religious leaders, political parties, and others buy their power and authority, with money and weapons. Their foundation is not laid on justice, truth and love, but greed and pride.

Weapon worship and display:
Weapons are created for destruction; they are not symbols of peace. Weapons have no relation to a living and loving God. God is our creator and father. He saves us and is the source of life. He comes to save sinners, from eternal destruction brought about by sin in this world. Weapons are the instruments of devil that helps him to establish his evil rule and spread fear. Revolution with the aid of weapons is not a divine revolution.

He who takes up the sword will be destroyed by the sword:
There are many militant organizations in front of you today, they are waging a war on the society and civilization, to overthrow a lawfully elected government, by means of force and violence. They want to bring about a revolution by annihilating their opponents. And there are others, who use some other similar way with the same goal of bringing about a social, religious, or political revolution.

History is witness to the fact that millions lost their lives in the violence, which accompanies such a revolution.

Then we hear from Lord Jesus the most challenging statement.
“He who takes up the sword will be destroyed by the sword. [Bible. Mathew 26:52]]

Let us look at the “Revolution of the weak:
The dawn of a new revolution in human history. A revolution, that has lasted for centuries and is meant to last till eternity. This turned its followers into a new creation. They were transformed from within. And as a consequence of this the door of a spiritual world, was opened for mankind. Man could have access to the presence of God and receive Moksha.

Beginnings:
Nearly 2000 years ago, creator God himself comes down to earth, in the form of a human. Leaving his eternal glory behind and his throne of authority and power aside, and humbles himself to take up human flesh.

He is born in a manger where animals are kept. He is born into a poor family.
He takes up the form of a servant, and brings with himself the divine truth of God. He proclaims the goal of Revolution by his claim “I am the Way the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the father God but only by me”. He brings about his Revolution of Moksha by offering himself as the eternal Sacrifice on the alter of the cross.

Love – sacrifices own life, to save the enemy:
Bible says, “A man could possibly dare to die for his friends, but true love gives life to save the enemy. [Bible. Romans 5:7]

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. Lord Jesus after his sacrificial death, comes back alive from death on the third day and thereafter is seated on his throne in heaven, after his ascension from the earth.
The revolution that originates in the weakness of a cow shed culminates in its triumph on the cross. Lord Jesus, who brought revolution of transformation of man, started it among the weak and lowly, by himself, becoming weak.

The Revolution Manifesto: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed” – Luke 4:18

What is “Good news to the poor”:
This means you do not need to offer money or material to receive your salvation or Moksha. No need to do penance or hard labour. There is no need to wander around in places in the world in search of God or moksha.

The Creator of the universe our God is our father, and he is not lost, but it is we humans that are lost. And Jesus Christ himself has brought good news of deliverance to our doorstep. Now there is no need for us to get cheated by the lies of so called religious people who invoke the name of God for their selfish material gains.

What is “Freedom for the prisoners”:
Prisoners are those, who are in bondage by their own traditions and rituals, society, family and superstition. They can only be freed by the power of Gods Spirit. They will only be delivered by the word of Lord Jesus, and will be able to receive the gift of Moksha. Lord Jesus said “you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. [Bible. John 8:32]

What is “Sight for the blind”:
Ignorance of the truth is living a life without light and living in total darkness. Truth takes us forward by removing our darkness and leads us, into the presence of God.

Those who are physically blind are not the blind but in Gods view blind is one who does not recognize the Truth. When our eyes open, we are able to see sin as sin, and we recognize our Living God and start rejecting superstition and the tantra-mantra of Satan.

What is “Releasing the oppressed”:
Oppressed are those, who are the victims in this world, they experience the persecution and injustice of the society. They are downtrodden and are considered the scum of the society. They are ill treated, persecuted and their fundamental rights are taken away.
They neither get wages nor their freedom.

Their families suffer poverty, racism and violence.
Lord Jesus comes to their side and for their redemption and walks into their homes; he lifts them up and gives them good news of kingdom of heaven.

The Revolutionaries:
Ordinary people like you and me are involved in the revolution of Lord Jesus. The Poor, blind, prisoners and oppressed people. This revolution is not brought about by the might of the sword, money or miracles, but this is realized by the shedding of holy blood of son of God, Lord Jesus. As a consequence of this Satan’s rule has been overturned and we have received our Moksha.

Revolution came through giving life, not taking:
The foundation of this revolution is ‘the love of God’. Lord Jesus defeated the rule of darkness that had the ingredients of lies and violence.

Now the good news is if you happen to belong to any of the above categories, then it is your revolution.

The author of this revolution Lord Jesus, was taken as weak by the world, and crucified on the cross. The cross was a weapon for Lord Jesus. By taking up the cross, He could pay the penalty of our sins with his own holy blood. This was indeed the plan of God. And this is how He conquered the world.

Humility and meekness: Lord Jesus came to serve and by washing the feet of his disciple’s he gave them the lesson of meekness and humility. He said, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant and whoever wants to be a ruler must be slave of all.

He sent the message of “revolution of the weak” to his followers and said: “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves” Because the revolution will come through the defeat of evil forces by the weak.

Revolution will not come through force or weapons, or a holy war in the name of religion and God. It will come only by Gods power of Transformation of man. This is not a religious revolution; but a revolution of Life and Moksha.

As it is written in the bible: “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things–and the things that are not–to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him”. [Bible.1 Cor 1:27-29]

Lord Jesus declared his triumph and said: I have conquered this world. He is the one who replaced the dominion of Satan from the lives of human beings and brought believers into the kingdom of God.

Through his sacrifice on the cross this victory is imparted to all those who believe in Lord Jesus. He gives us the gift of Moksha.

Have you been wandering in search of Moksha?

Then believe in Lord Jesus and pray this prayer, for your salvation:

• “Lord Jesus, I am poor, blind, captive and oppressed in this world. I am a slave of sin and satan. I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and shed your holy blood. Forgive my sins. Give me your holy spirit, give me new life, I will obey you from today.” – Amen

A discourse by Shishye Thompson

Religion is not the external organised set of teachings and beliefs you see that is the visible part. But as a seed – religions is the moral code in every individual that exists and has its origin in the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. Every man and woman has a kind of his own religion. This is manifested in the self righteous life and a self will life. Denying self means defeating self will and overcoming means doing Gods will instead of the self will. Christ says he has overcome it and then everyone who is born of God can also overcome…by having faith that is he is able to do…What he has promised…

Religions are the same

I understand that religions are all the same, and we can know it is true if we see it closely, and therefore I am not disturbed if you call me a Hindu a Muslim, Sikh or a Christian or from any of the other religions. A person belongs to a religion not because it is the true religion, or he likes it, but because he was helpless to make a distinction and is born into it. Whatever be their religion, all need to attain forgiveness of sin and Moksh [salvation] to enter into eternal spiritual life with God.

Human race is one in their need, and their nature. All have sinned and are fallen into evil and separated from creator God. This is true, and is proved by all the evil we see and experience around us. Everyone is beset with lies, all cheat, all have lust, all get angry at one time or the other. Sin in human life is hidden from naked eyes, just like the bacteria of a disease hidden in our bodies.

At the same time all religions have same basic and common teachings. They all believe that man is in sin, and needs salvation, and God is the creator. All acknowledge that murder, adultery, stealing, lying, greed etc is expressions of sin within us. They recognise that God is omnipotent. Violence is rejected by all. All religions call upon men to do good works. This looks like religions are good moral organisations. But with the absence of a living God in them, religion is like a dead body without Life. And is unable to help man know or reach God.

Lost in Religion

Religion is a human effort in search of God, as if, he is lost on the contrary man is lost in sin. Finite is trying to comprehend the infinite and this is impossible. Religion is a science of interpreting God and spiritual issues, rationally through human mind. Religion is trying to understand God through knowledge, just as one studies biology to understand living things or Physics to discover physical laws.

Creator of Universe

Look at the universe and the vastness of it, and millions of Galaxies, and distances of billions of miles between them. Then are we able to limit the one creator God on the earth into geographical boundaries? And think that he is not one God but many Gods according to our religious beliefs. This argument of national God and Foreign God, our God and your God does not stand logical thinking.

Violence, Greed and Business

The truth is God is one, and he is not part of any human established religious system. To meet him, we have to come out of the four walls of our every religion, because God has always existed and been creating before the religions ever came into existence. Religions are based around structures or buildings, made by human hands.

Look at the hatred religious zealots spread around against each other. The violence that takes place is always committed by those who think that they are more religious than others. And when they take such actions God is pleased with them.

Religious centres are the places of Greed, business, money power and lies. By the way Jesus Christ was murdered on the cross by the religious leaders. And the planning and conspiracy was hatched inside the meeting hall of the great Jewish temple.

Source of miracles

Religious people try to impress others by showing some miracle or supernatural act and claim it to be from God. The source of such miracles should always be questioned, as it could be from Satan or demonic forces. We should realise that every power is not God. And everything that we fear should not be worshipped for appeasement. We should seek protection from a living God. Religion tries to hide the sin within us cosmetically. The external looks good but spiritual life within is dead and hopeless.

Unique Life of Incarnate Jesus Christ

Now I would like to clear the misconception about Jesus Christ. He was and is, always out of the religious systems of the world. He did not direct anyone to any religion, or a religious book, but to himself and said follow me, His own words are proof of that.

He said “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father God, but through me”. Bible .John.14:6.

This he could proclaim because he proved that he himself was the incarnate son of God, who came to save man from sin, and lead him to God. He himself came down from Heaven. Christ was unique in his birth. He was a historical person born 2000 years ago, and all that is said and written about him is not fiction but truth. Every prophecy concerning him dating thousands of years was fulfilled accurately in his life.

He was born into a poor humble family, to a virgin, as a sign from God of his divinity and uniqueness.

He was not born in the religious town of Jerusalem, but a small insignificant village. He never issued any political statement during his life on earth, although he lived under the oppressive rule of the Romans. He refused to become the King of the Jews when people demanded. He revealed the truth that no one can serve God and money. His own people of the time rejected him.

His Message contradicted religious system

His message was unique and unheard of before. He exposed sin, to reflect the way God views it. He equated Murder with anger, and adultery to lustful thought.

He spoke against externalism, and demanded the inward renewal of man with the Holy Spirit of the living God.

He exposed the hypocrisy of the religious leaders. He said they did not follow what they preached. They give alms to get a name for themselves. They make long, repetitive and loud prayers to impress other people. When they fast, it is for others to see. They impress people with the kind of long and flowing religious robes they wear. They want people to garland and respect them and call them their Guru. They like to sit in the chief places during religious ceremonies.

Jesus taught through his life and teachings that whoever is great should be like a servant. He himself washed the feet of his disciples and asked his followers to imitate such life.

On one occasion the religious authorities’ brought a woman caught in sexual immorality to be killed by stoning according to the law of their scriptures but he rescued the woman, by asking the sinless among them to throw the first stone.

He said love your enemies pray for them that hate you.

He cleansed the Jewish temple by removing the businesses from the premises that had turned it into a house of thieves.

He urged sinners to repentance from their evil ways He loved them and was their friend and welcomed them into the Kingdom of God. He pointed out that sin, was not just in visible action but invisible thoughts, attitudes and intentions. One could be outwardly religious but inside full of evil and sin. Jesus Christ exposed the hypocrisy, greed and power hunger of religious leaders.

Miracles of Jesus Christ

He showed his divinity by his numerous miracles that he did to help the people. He calmed the turbulent sea and stilled a storm. He was able to walk on the water.

He multiplied 5 loaves to feed more than 5000 people. He healed people from diseases.

He touched and healed the lepers. He restored the eyes of the blind. He raised dead people and gave them new life.

He cast out demons from those afflicted by evil powers.

Christian Religion in problem

Christianity as a religion was created two hundred years after the ascension of Jesus Christ by some political leaders and Emperors. He did not start the Christian religion, and he opposed the existing religious systems all his life. The present religious form of Christianity is in a mess. They follow their own man made traditions and teachings rather than the teachings revealed through Jesus Christ. There is lot of materialism, and hypocrisy. They say one thing and do the other. They depend on money and are greedy. They have become enemies of Christ by making the idols of Jesus Christ and other so called made saints and placing them in Churches. This is the ugly form of the Christian religion today. This system is different from those who are believers of Christ, and follow him and have attained Moksha through the sacrifice and blood of Christ, and have transformed lives.

Conversion according to Jesus Christ

Lord Jesus wanted people to turn to God not to a religion. And believe in him whom the Father God has sent from heaven for the salvation of mankind. The one conversion mentioned in the Bible is for a man to convert and become like a child.

He calls the religious leaders, who convert people for ulterior reasons as hypocrites who travel across sea and land to make one convert. Such a convert is twice as bad as they themselves, and thus heading for eternal condemnation. He was opposed to conversion to religious system.

God does not just want people to be better people, but rather spiritually transformed. They are made into a new creation by the miraculous work of his Holy Spirit and become spiritual and holy people. Religiosity does not take us to God, but believing in the provision of God for our salvation, forgiveness of sin and a new life through Christ.

Christ’s Death on the Cross for our Moksha

God’s proclamation has been that wages of sin is death. Bible .Rom 6:23.

Jesus Christ was willing to be crucified on behalf of the sin of humans in the world.

This he did to become a substitute suffering the penalty of sin on behalf of mankind. On the third day after his death he became alive and came out of the tomb and appeared to the people in Jerusalem. And in the presence of hundreds of onlookers he ascended to heaven on the 40th day after his resurrection. And he has promised to come again and then judgement will take place. Every soul will give account to him.

Today if you visit the city of Jerusalem you can see the empty tomb of Jesus Christ. His death on the cross was the plan of God that revealed his Love for his creation.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life”. Bible .John 3:16.

Good news is that God loves us and he wants to give us eternal life and save our souls from eternal condemnation in the hell. This is the meaning of Moksha. Any human from any religious background can come to God and receive Salvation [Moksha] through the way Lord Jesus Christ has provided through his sacrifice and shedding of his Holy blood.

Sin can be forgiven today, because Jesus Christ has the authority and power to do so. Eternal life can be received by calling out his name. Jesus Christ is alive today and you can prove it by asking him in prayer to solve any of your pressing problems, be it any family problems, any sickness, or attacks from evil spirit Pray in the name of Jesus Christ.

Today in the name of religion there is violence. There is murder, arson, rape and destruction. We prayed to the Lord and confessed to him our weakness and helplessness. What should we do Lord? Then the Lord inspired us to take the words of Lord Jesus to every home.

Today there are questions before us:

• Do we have power, to love our enemies?
• Do we have power, to forgive?
• Do have power, to endure suffering?
• Do we have power, to have patience till death?

Lord Jesus, who triumphed over Sin and death, is able to give you strength. He will give you hope in discouragement. In your darkness he will be your light and life.

You must Love,

If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?

Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Do not judge and you will not be judged? For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give and it will be given to you.

Pray to our Father in heaven, to Give us today our daily bread and forgive us our sins as we also have forgiven those who sin against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Religious leaders had taught you, ‘Do not murder, But I tell you that do not be angry.

You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth. But I tell you, do not resist an evil person.

You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.

I tell you, be Faithful till Death

Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

Who among you can, by worrying add a single hour to his life?

Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.

As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, and cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons.

And they will hand you over to the local councils and flog you in their synagogues. On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.

And all men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm till the end will be saved.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.

Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. Separation has come and a sword is drawn. A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’

Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. But if you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. Remember they hated me without reason.’

Tell me, what good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?

A time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me.

Come to me and Find your rest…

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Lord Jesus. Thanks for shedding your Holy blood for my sins. , please forgive my sins and give me you Holy Spirit and your new Life. I believe in all your words.

Lord Jesus came to this world as the incarnate son of God. Although he was the creator, the world did not recognise him. He was the light of the world, but the darkness did not understand him. He came to his own people and his own did not receive him. John 1:5, 10, 11.

Lord Jesus is alive today; he is not in the tomb. He is not a lifeless object, a picture or simply a power. He is the creator, who has created us all. In this message let us understand Christ and the Salvation he offers. The real issue:

It is not some social problem like scarcity of water, poverty an evil government or unemployment. It is not even the Physical sicknesses like Tuberculosis, cancer or AIDS.

The real problem of man is an invisible deadly spiritual state in the flesh, soul and spirit. A kind of poison or venom that is spread all over and God calls it Sin. It is a rebellion against a living and eternal God and rejection of his truth that he has revealed. It is the rejection of his divine will and laws. Bible says that because of Sin, man is separated from God. Sin leads to the spiritual death in man. He needs the help of the creator to restore him back.

Looking around what do we see, robbery, violence, murder, rape, cheating corruption and injustice? All evil surrounds us.

Now let us honestly see what is inside us. There is selfishness, jealousy, anger, hatred, greed, lust, pride and lies.

Also let us examine our motives. We will soon discover that behind every action there is a selfish motive. When we give material help to the needy, we intend to reap a name for ourselves. If we make a contribution to the society we would like our name to appear in the newspapers. If we take a sick neighbour to the hospital, we expect them to do likewise for us.

Who is lost?

Is it God or us? Just like a Child lost in the crowd thinks that his parents are lost, although in reality it is the child who is lost. Same is true with us it is not God but we humans are lost. Until this truth dawns on us we will continue to search for God through our own efforts and look for him in the life-less created objects and nature, instead of trusting in the solution that he has provided for our reconciliation.

Gurus of this world:

Today there are many teachers and so called Gurus in the world. Everywhere religion is preached via books, radio and TV. Everywhere knowledge is imparted, but there is absence of the Life of God.

Lord Jesus spoke about the religious leaders of his time and said if you follow them you will neither receive salvation from sin nor eternal life but at the end of the journey there will be a sure fall into eternal hell fire.

It is true that when a mortal man declares himself a Guru he shares his own knowledge as the truth of God. The customs and traditions of man are taught as the laws of God. He deceives people and gathers disciples for himself and collects riches from them for himself. He sits on the throne and makes others his servants.

Eternal Satguru Jesus Christ

Lord Jesus proclaimed “if anyone wants to be the chief, let him be the servant of all. And he who wants to be great among you be as one who serves. Luke 22:26.

Eternal Sat-guru Lord Jesus sat for food with his disciples on the last night before his crucifixion. He stood up from his seat and put on the clothes of a servant. Then he took water in a bowl and started washing the feet of his disciples. Such an act by a Guru was unheard and unseen in the human history. Lord Jesus commanded his disciples to follow his example in their service.

He as the Son of God took upon himself a human body. And came to this world and revealed to us that the God in heaven is not cruel, angry or hateful. He does not carry in his hands a sword or weapons drenched with blood of humans.

He presented to us a God who is a loving father. Who loves every one of us just as an earthly Father loves his sick child. He hates the disease but loves his child. God also hates our sin but loves us sinners as his own children. He wants to restore us back to himself. This is why Bible proclaims that God is love.

He came from heaven to show us all about the heavenly world and therefore we are able to trust his revelation of God.

Lord Jesus on the Cross:

While Jesus was dying on the cross to pay the penalty of our Sin, we see a murderer also next to him on another cross given the death penalty for his crimes. This man confesses his evil doings and pleads with Christ for salvation and a place into his heavenly kingdom. Lord Jesus pardons him instantly and assures him eternal life the very same day.

The gospel of the good news of Christ is symbolised in this event. The holy son of God dying next to an evil murderer and restoring him back into the family of God.

In Lord Jesus Christ there is hope for all sinners. Be they a drunkard, prostitute, thief a murderer or even religious hypocrite. Everyone has opportunity and hope of salvation. This is why the good news of Lord Jesus Christ is preached all over.

Sin is not just in works but it is in our hidden thoughts and motives. This is why God does not differentiate between anger and murder or lust and adultery.

Good news from God is summarised in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Who will repay my debt?

Here is a true story that brings home a spiritual truth. There was an Emperor in Russia. His name was Czar Nicolas. He would often disguise himself in the night and go and inspect his soldiers in their outpost. One night while on such a visit he found a soldier sleeping with his head rested on the table. Czar was upset at this behaviour and then on the table he found a note of despair. There was a long list of debt he had to pay back, and at the bottom of this note was a question, ‘Who will repay my debt’? Czar Nicolas signed and wrote ‘I will repay’. The Soldier found freedom.

The same truth is expressed by Lord Jesus Christ when he died on the cross for our sins. He became our substitute, took upon himself our punishment and granted us eternal life.

Love of Lord Jesus:

He voluntarily laid aside his heavenly glory and the exercise of power and authority. He kept aside his crown, of heaven and became a man and lowered himself to the level of a servant. Phil.2:5-10.

He revealed the Love of the Father to us. He was obedient to the Father God in everything and his obedience led to his cruel death on the cross. It was a great plan of God, and Christ became a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins.

Cross of Christ symbolised the injustice of mankind, the anger and hatred of man, jealousy, greed and pride.

Jesus died and was buried in the tomb and after 3 days by his divine power he rose from the dead. He appeared to hundreds of people in Jerusalem and its surroundings. He spoke to them about the kingdom of God and asked his followers to spread the good news of Salvation through repentance from sin and faith in Christ and his sacrifice. And proclaim the love of God for the people of any caste, colour or creed.

In the presence of hundreds of people while they watched him Lord Jesus ascended to heaven. He went with a promise that he would come again and then there will be the judgement.

Question for you?

Do you have darkness or the light of the living God? Do you have truth or the lie of man? Do you have hope or constant despair? Do you have defeat or the victorious life of God? Do you have salvation or just religious hypocrisy?

Would you like to receive Jesus Christ today? Remember he is alive you can trust him. He offers you salvation [moksha] he brings to you true peace. A peace that destroys fear, and a peace that gives victory over sorrow and pain.

Call on his name now, and you can receive salvation [moksha]. Put your trust in Lord Jesus and make this prayer with an honest heart and total faith.

• [Wages for sin is death, but the gift of God is Eternal Life in Jesus Christ]

Every one is searching for Moksha, they travel far and wide for this and even go for pilgrimages. While doing all this, first requirement is to find God, and then ask him the way to get forgiveness from sin, and then receive Moksha [salvation].

Every religion speaks of the requirement of Moksha or salvation. An inner voice from within man warns him of the impending uncertainty of tomorrow. Man has come into the world, and his earthly body, or even this world is not his final destination. The spirit of man will come out from his body and move on to the next destination, that is the judgment seat of God. His body made of the elements of this earth, will return to the dust.

Therefore salvation from Sin, Moksha and attaining a heavenly abode is the need of everyone. No one is looking forward to a destination of fiery hell, and torture in the darkness of eternity.

Therefore being afraid of a tomorrow every human being is willing to pay a price to attain salvation or Moksha.

What should be the Price?

With a narrow view, and limited wisdom, most people tend to think about the cost for this salvation. Some are ready to endure pain and torture, others do penance, and still others good works. They search for God with their own knowledge and philosophy, and wander through religious places and pilgrimages.

They go around asking the cost of salvation so that they can arrange to pay it. They search their pockets for money and material. A rich person is willing to pay a higher price and be satisfied, whereas a poor man is willing to work it out with labor and rituals.

The merchants of religion meanwhile act as middlemen in this business of Moksha. A frightened, discouraged and miserable pilgrim falls into the net of these cheats. All his money gets stolen; he gets tired without concrete evidence or peace of God. All he has is false hope and uncertainty, and returns home.

No Moksha with Money & Material:

Can we give anything to God? This is just impossible. The maker of heaven and the universe is God himself. He has created all that exists. He has created us the human beings, and he is the owner of all creation.

If we take anything out of this creation and gift him or pay him as the price of our salvation then it is neither a gift nor the price because it all belongs to him anyway. All our money and wealth, that we have is received from his hand, so what gift shall we give? What price for our salvation shall we pay?

Greatness of God in the Universe & weakness of Man:

Let us try to understand this. In this vast universe, our earth can be compared and seen as a speck of dust. Our Sun is one million times larger than our earth. And there are other Suns in the universe that are millions of times larger than our own Sun, and are called Stars, that shine in the night sky.

A cloud of millions of Stars is called a Galaxy. And we are able to see millions of such Galaxies with the modern powerful Telescope.

The name of our own Galaxy is ‘Milky Way’ and to travel within this Galaxy from one end to the other at the speed of light i.e. 300000kms/sec will take 100000 years.

To get an idea of the vastness of time and space, let us decide to travel through just ten out of the millions of Galaxies, and it will take more than one 10 million years to accomplish this travel.

This vast universe is created by God himself. And within this our own Earth could be compared as a speck of dust. And imagine if we look into this particle with a powerful Microscope, then comparatively we humans will look like, the size of Microbes.

Now this microbe size human in this vastness of universe, and in the presence of a great God, is not taking Gods help for his Salvation. Man with his pride and arrogance, would like to buy his salvation with his own efforts and gifts.

This can be understood with an earthly example. Imagine there is a king who has millions of tons of Gold and silver and millions of tons of Diamonds in his possession. And in his kingdom there is a criminal who would like to pay for his crime and be freed from punishment by paying one Rupee to the King and please him through this gift and buy his freedom. Will this logic work?

Will a similar method work for salvation or Moksha. Sure you agree that this is a foolish way to even think and it is just impossible.

The almighty and living creator God is a loving God. We need grace and mercy from him and love to be forgiven from sin, and rescued from evil. Salvation of soul cannot be purchased by money, material or gifts.

No Moksha by efforts of Good works or Karma:

By mere good works, moksh cannot be obtained. The reason for this is that sin is not only committed by external actions, but is also inclusive of evil and sinful thoughts and attitudes, that are invisible from outside but hidden within in the heart and mind.

Murder is an external fruit of sin, but the hidden seed of this is anger. A sexual assault is an external fruit of sin but the hidden seed is lust in the heart. Stealing is the fruit of sin but the seed is hidden as greed in our hearts.

So the fact is, even if we eliminate the visible fruit of sin by our efforts of good work, God will not be satisfied with our life, infected with sinful thought life. The sin within us keeps declaring us, as sinners before God.

Therefore to think that by doing some good works, through our efforts and pride we can receive salvation is impossible. It is just like cleaning a vessel from outside when the inside remains filthy. This is like treatment of an inner disease, only externally. From outside we look religious and holy men, whatever our religion, but in the inside we still have lies, anger, greed and evil. Our external eyes cannot see it, but God knows everything and sees everything.

No Moksha with religious Gurus, human wisdom or Philosophy:

It is written in the Bible: John 3:13. “No one has ever gone to heaven and returned. But the Son of Man [Lord Jesus] has come down from heaven”.

If any human Guru by his intelligence, knowledge, philosophy, miracles or tantra magic influences others and leads them into his own cult and belief, then in this path salvation will not be obtained, but self destruction, in the eternal fires.

Moksha is Free and God himself has paid the Price:

God has come into the world in the human body to pay for the salvation of our souls. Lord Jesus, the son of God becomes a man and descends on earth, to reveal to the humans the will of God, the love of God, the path of salvation, truth and eternal life.

On the third day after his sacrifice on the cross, Jesus Christ comes out of death to life and on the 40th day after his resurrection from death he ascends towards heaven in the sight of a large crowd that gathers on a mountain. By himself becoming the Way, the Truth and Life, Lord Jesus becomes our Salvation.

The cost of Moksha can only be paid by almighty God himself. This is because he only knows the price of Moksha. And in Gods calculation the cost is a Holy and pure sacrifice as a substitute that pays, to save man from the punishment of sin.

Sacrifice should be holy because God is holy. This is why Lord Jesus fits in as a true incarnation of God. He took the human body and by the death on the cross he sacrificed his holy blood and thus became a perfect sacrifice for our salvation. Because of the Love of God for mankind a way of salvation has been provided.

It is like a loving Father who sacrifices his own life to save his dying child.

The remedy for death is Life. The cost of Moksha is sacrifice of substitutionary Holy blood [life]. And the reason for sacrifice is love.

Love discovers the way of Moksha. Love sets the price of Moksha. And this has been gifted to humans freely by God himself.

Today Lord Jesus is seated in heaven. He is willing to be your way of salvation, the price of salvation, your forgiveness from sin and grant you eternal life in heaven.

In the bible it is written in John 3:16:

• For God so much loved this world that he gave his son Jesus Christ as a gift, so that whoever will believe in Him will not perish in hell but receive eternal life [salvation /moksha].

Your Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner, I believe that you paid the price of my salvation by your own holy blood. Please forgive my sins and give me Moksha.

If I do not understand something, then shall I call it Maya a dream, or an unreal world? But in fact, we need not call it that way because it is not a dream, it is all real and it can be seen, and experienced by what is called FAITH.

1. What is this universe?

The universe encompasses everything be it living or non living. The matter, the Energy, and beings with soul and spirit that are called living. We notice that all this is not haphazard, but there is a system in place. Someone is making things to follow a law and order. There is a centre of governance and power. Even if we do not see it physically. Look at the precise timings of the movements of Galaxies, stars and our solar system, the earth, moon and the other planets. There movements and timings are accurate and perfect to the fractions of seconds. It is not even a gravitational force or pull, there are different movements simultaneously taking place. Then there must be an architect of this universe. Someone alive someone more wise a creator we call God. There somewhere he has revealed some details of his creative activity, and must communicate with his creation.

2. Who is man?

Man is not an animal. He is different because he has a mind, he can think, he has a conscience and so has a sense of morality. He plans, remembers, and communicates in many ways. He has a language in which he thinks, reads and writes and his creator must communicate with him. He invents and he recognizes that there is a being higher than him. Religion is a proof of this fact that everyman is looking for someone somewhere unseen. He is not evolved from a monkey because there are no missing links for millions of species. And if evolution of humans is true, then we should see the simultaneous evolution of languages in many different stages of development. We have more than 6000 languages in the world, yet there are no languages that are spoken by beings, that are links between a monkey and man?

Man has emotions, needs to love and fellowship he is a created being. He should have a history of creation and a future.

3. Why is, sickness, old age and death?

The physical Human body has been given a span of life, it is a life cycle. Birth and growing up and then adult full life and old age and then death. Remember but it is only for the physical body. Living beings have two parts one made up of the elements of the earth and the second the invisible spirit that is given by God. This spirit gives life to the physical frame made up of dust. When the two are joined together it makes a living being. The day the spirit departs from the body the dust goes back to dust and this we know as death. A cycle is followed by other living things, Animals and plants. A seed germinates, grows up, then fruits come out then dies with age. Sickness is the malfunction of the body due to the deficiencies faced by the unique elements of the body and then comes death and completion of the span set by the creator. It is like an internal clock set into every human body that determines its life span, and is in the control of God.

4. What is beyond death?

When someone dies why do people cry and lament? Is it because they are hopeless and do not have a clue, what lies beyond death? Has anyone come from the world beyond death, and has given us a future hope and information about it. There must be a man in the form of the incarnate God, who died and went to the places of death and came back to us and has given a direction to follow. Can his life and account of things beyond be trusted? The eternal enemy of life is death. The great and small are all swallowed in by death. Hope of most humans is buried with death. The big question is what will the human spirit see when it departs the body. A spirit world of evil, darkness torture and flames and moans, or a paradise where the holy beings and other creations of God dwell.

5. What are the common deceptions of man?

Men are deceived from truth in different ways.

• Man as God -

  Man who is a sinner, and defeated by sickness, sin and death and is a created being, can he be equal to God, and worshipped in place of God.

• Non living things as God -

  Anything that is a non living thing, cannot create living intelligent beings and can it be then, worshipped as God.

• Human Philosophy & Gurus –

  Human knowledge and wisdom is limited by learning, it cannot match or answer the questions about God and spiritual world. They, who have not seen God, or the other world, can their theories or imaginations be of any value?

• Science –

  Many think the knowledge gained through science makes a person an atheist, but in fact the reverse should be the truth, the more intricacies of life the science reveals, the more one is sure of his and curious to know Him.

• Devil and demons introduced as Gods –
  The black magic and miracles etc experienced with the power of Satanic forces does not make the source of all this, to be God. Anything that is supernatural is not God or from God. Just as good and evil is on earth visible, so also there is Good and evil in the supernatural. The supernatural evil can be recognized by the fact that it brings fear, demands money and sacrifices and the results of such worship do not lead into holiness, but brings immorality, and it only gratifies the flesh in the guise of God.

  Anything that is more powerful than us should not be regarded as God and worshipped. Or anything that brings fear in us should not become object of worship; our worship is not extortion.

• Tantriks –

  Introducing fear and misleading with their so called miracles.

• The confidence in self, away from God –

  Pride that makes people think that they have the power over the destiny is a lie.

6. Who is the creator?

Is the creator not one who could create something out of nothing? He should also have life in himself, and so could create life out of no life. He should have power in his words that can call out into nothing and bring into existence something? A creator who could create matter, energy, light and life. Who has the power over life and death and could judge? Who could listen to his creation, and respond.

7. Can I obtain Moksha?

Is there then a God who loves us, and not hates us or waiting ready to destroy us? Is there a God who is absolutely holy at the same time who can forgive sin, and is willing to offer salvation or Moksha as a gift? Is it possible for me that I purchase my Moksha? Can I work to gain my Moksha? And if this is impossible, then can it be gifted by God to me? Although I am heading for eternal destruction due to inherent nature of sin, has God made a way out for me?

The One answer

Amazingly all the above questions are answered in one book the Bible that is written with the inspiration of the Spirit of God. But why should anyone believe it so? Is it not like any other book? The answer is, it is not another book, but a book you can call a library and that has the message of God for humanity.

The 66 books of the Bible vary in size, from one page to almost a hundred pages. Written during a period of 1500 years, it gives description of God, creation of universe, and man, the problem of sin, description of the destination of heaven for those who have obtained Moksha, and hell for those who have no Moksha. Written by 40 or more writers and still amazingly there is no contradiction, but the whole book is like a continuous theme, from the living creator God.

Jesus said heaven and earth shall pass away but every word that is written will be fulfilled.

Creation:

About the creation, let us read from the word of God direct in the book of Genesis. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.”

And God said, “Let there be lights in the sky to separate the day from the night, and God made two great lights & stars of the universe. Also it is written that Lord Jesus the incarnate Son of God, who is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being. He sustains and controls all things by his powerful word. And Lord Jesus proved it during his incarnation on the earth, by controlling the sea and the wind and the nature by his word.

Again God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the sky. And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds, and it was so.

Man:

About the creation of man we read, God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, in our likeness. And so God created human beings in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Then why is this cycle of life? The answer is through this we need to understand the worthlessness of dust, and not concentrate on the physical body so much, but the eternal spirit. And it is salvation or Moksha that needs to be our focus, not the usual temporal gains. There are issues of the spirit and the spiritual that is important. The old age and death is the sign of decay and progressive death of the temporary abode of the spirit. The most important need of the Physical body next to the spiritual Moksha while on earth surely is Physical healing. The ills of the body destroy the emotional and behavioral attitudes of a human. A God who answers the prayer for healing is one who is alive and who loves his creation. It is for this reason that the Lord Jesus while on earth healed the physical ailments of all the sick who came to him. Even today when you pray in the name of Lord Jesus, your sicknesses and deceases can be healed. He even gave back life to dead people. About Lord Jesus we read that in Him was life [Jn1:4]. Birth, sickness, growing up adulthood and death must be in the perfect plan of the creator.

Sin & Deception:

We read in the book of Romans: that the anger of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of human beings who suppress the truth by their wickedness. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal human beings and birds and animals and reptiles.

They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator.

They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, and no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

A view, beyond Death:

About Lord Jesus it is written that, He came from above and revealed the plan of God to mankind. And so his revelations can be trusted.

Bible says “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”. John a disciple of Jesus who wrote the last book, of future revelations in the Bible, saw a vision. He writes as follows,

“And there before me was a door standing open in heaven. Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and everyone was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. All whose names were not found written in the book of life were thrown into the lake of fire [hell]. When the body dies and goes back to the dust in the earth, the spirit takes off to a

There is a way to obtain Moksha

I can be saved by the judge himself from the consequence of judgment. Punishment is death but God offers to take the punishment on himself. Jesus Christ takes the death on himself and offers to those who believe on him Eternal life – Moksha to man. This is the way of Moksha. God became man in Jesus Christ, lived among men, preached the ways and plans of God , he was then crucified on the cross as a substitute paying the penalty of sin for every human, and he defeated sin, satan and death and came alive on the third day. Then he ascended to heaven in the sight of man. Now he is seated in Heaven and has been given all authority in Heaven / Earth and under the Earth.

Your Prayer for Moksha:

Lord Jesus I believe that you can forgive my sins and grant me eternal life. Your holy blood is the price of my sin. Answer all my prayers that are made in the name o f Lord Jesus. Give me Life. Amen.

• I am come that they might have Life. Jn.10:10 . . yet you will not come to me that you might have life. Jn.5:40

Forgiveness or Life

The word ‘Forgiveness’ is more used in the Old Testament, but in the New Testament we have the introduction of the prominent word LIFE. The summary of the Old Testament scriptural verses is given in Psalm 130:4″With God there is forgiveness”. Lord Jesus forgave everyone from the cross for crucifying him although those standing there did not even ask for it, but then this forgiveness is not enough to help enter into the kingdom of God. We certainly need to have a new life to get there [unless we are reborn] John.3: 3. The solution does not lie in mere forgiveness but Life.

In the beatitudes it is not said that those who receive forgiveness will see God, or enter into the kingdom of God, but in the Lords prayer we read that those who forgive will be forgiven by God. Principle of forgiveness is seen in the story of the King who has pity on the debt-ridden servant and his household and forgives all the debt, and expects the servant to have the same attitude. But when the servant is unwilling to forgive the debt of one of his debtors who owed him only a little money, the king’s anger is kindled against this unforgiving servant. Therefore forgiveness from God and the renewal of our life needs to go hand in hand. Forgiveness of God is through the blood of his son Lord Jesus, but there is more on offer than forgiveness. It is the new life.

Forgiveness is not the basic requirement to see God but a new life is. This life is seen only in the new creation of God. Some ingredients of this life are Love, Joy, Peace, Long suffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, and Temperance. Forgiving others should be the basic Godlike character of every true Christian.Mt5: 7.”Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy”. The new life is manifested in us when we forgive others, even our enemies.

Forgiveness in the Old Testament is commonly represented by the term Mercy.

Let us understand the mystery of ‘Life’ as follows.

Say a Doctor who understands every function and anatomy of the physical body in detail and understands every disease, and can interpret the DNA sequence, but does not know how and when life is infused into this body that transforms it into a living being. We who know God know it well that God is the source of every physical life. Now if we compare it with spiritual life, we see that in the same way a man [spiritual doctor] can understand and explain every aspect of a spiritual life. And every matter relating to the Christian life. But still something could be missing from his spiritual life. He can only become spiritually alive by the input of the Spirit of God. This part is only accomplished by the grace of God to all those who come to him with repentance.

Seeking only forgiveness from God is like asking medicines for a dead man.

Christ has died on the cross not for forgiveness alone. That was available even before his death. He even forgave the sins of some people before his crucifixion. All the Old Testament saints were forgiven on the basis of repentance and the shedding of the blood. His promise in Isa.1: 18. Is “Though your sins be as scarlet they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. The Bible is full of examples that show that God is a forgiving God. He is merciful, slow to anger and patient. We have seen him forgiving even the gentiles of Ninveh. We read He has not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us Psalm: 103:10,12. All over the scriptures we see a forgiving God. Psalm 51 is a prayer of a repentant sinner for forgiveness.

We read in Psalm 78:36-39. That they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues. And their heart was not right with him, neither were they steadfast in his covenant. But still he being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not, for he remembered that they were but flesh, a wind that passeth away and cometh not again. The blessing of forgiveness is that we are not destroyed or cursed in this physical world. But spiritually we need more than forgiveness.

Romans: 6:6

We read “Knowing this that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin”.

Lord Jesus through his death on the cross offers for us something more than mere forgiveness. He exchanges our life with his own life on the cross. I [flesh] also die there with him. And I am made a new creation. It is not mere forgiveness. But it is another life, a new life, I am reborn.

He destroys me [flesh or the sum total of my self-life] on the cross and being the life giving Spirit he makes me alive as a new creation with the indwelling of his Holy Spirit within me1Cor15: 45. It is no longer I live but Christ lives in me. Gal.2: 21. Baptism is symbolic of this very fact. We have been raised with him to walk in the newness of life.Rom.6: 4.

Christ could have taken the form of man, and taught great teachings, and at the end of it he could have ascended to heaven. To accomplish this he need not die on the cross. But the reason for his death on the cross was to pay the wages of sin himself, and in exchange he has received the power to offer life not mere forgiveness to all those who would put their trust in his name. The word ‘Life’ has appeared more than 60 times in the gospel of John but not even once the word ‘forgiveness’ is mentioned.

1Jn.2: 3. Gives the proof of our new life it says “Whoever obeys the words of the Lord proves the new life within him”. Also in 1Jn.2: 27. “The anointing [Holy Spirit] which you have received of him abideth in you. And teacheth you”.

Lord Jesus said unless a seed of wheat falls down and dies it does not produce fruit. This was true in his life, he died on the cross and we are the fruits gathered by him. The same principle applies to every Christian, unless we die [on our cross] daily we are not able to produce fruit, in our own life and around us. We need to have a continuous process of dying to self.1Jn: 3:16. Fruit is the sign of life and that is why Christ insisted on the fruit for his followers.Mt.7: 20.

Man’s need

In the Garden of Eden the sinful act did not need mere forgiveness for Adam and Eve. Infact the moment they disobeyed God and did their own will they had died spiritually. And mere forgiveness by God is not what could help; instead they needed their life back. The truth is God forgave them in that they did not die physically and were not cursed by God. And God in his mercy even clothed them and sent them out of the garden to protect them from the sword of the Cherubims.

Lord Jesus said to Nicodemus “that which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of Spirit is spirit, John.3: 6. His emphasis was not on forgiveness but on receiving a new spirit life from God. The reverse of whatever happened at Eden. Lord Jesus did not come to send punishment but to save. He even forgave people who crucified him. This is the reason for the physical life we all enjoy without getting destroyed by God. But an eternal life is possible only if Christ as the life giving Spirit gives us a new life, which is brought about through repentance and trust in the efficacy of the shed blood of Christ.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power [to live the new life] to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were not born of blood, nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. Born of God means the introduction of the life giving spirit is something that is done by God alone. Jn: 1:12,13

We read ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Should not perish has to be understood correctly. This means man is under judgement, the death penalty has been declared. We have died spiritually, and we are hopelessly poised for physical death also. And there is a sure possibility of perishing without repenting. As long as we have physical life we stand a chance of being saved. And get back to the spiritual life that God offers. Perishing is a final loss of opportunity.

When the Lord Jesus said to Martha the words “I am the resurrection and the life” he meant a resurrection not just on the last day or day of judgement. He said he who believes in me although he is dead yet shall he live [resurrection on the last day] and he who lives and believes in me shall never die. [A true believer who has received life from Christ] Jn.11: 25-26. Eternal life starts on the earth itself.

But we read in 1Cor.11: 23-29, we have become partakers of his body and partakers of his blood and proclaim to the world that we have the same life that is in Christ Jesus. We have become part of Christ. He the head and we the members of his body are connected with his same life.

In John 6:51,57 Jesus said I am the living bread, which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which is for the life of the world. As the living Father has sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. In Jn.4: 34 Jesus had said, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. The sign of us being alive is that Christ is seen in us.

‘Born-again’ is not a statement of faith but experience of a new life. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor un-circumcision. But faith, which worketh by love [not externalism but a new life of christlikeness]. Gal.5: 6

The Last Adam

We read in 1Cor 15:21,22,45 that since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Jesus is referred as the last Adam instead of second Adam because he was complete as the son of Adam [although still fully the Son of God despite in the human form and body]. He is the last Adam in the sense that he is symbolically terminating the reign of the first Adam. And he is able to bring man back into the image and likeness of God the Father and restore them as Gods children.

It is clear that there are just two types of Christians in the world. 1] Those who have the teachings of the Bible, the doctrines, the knowledge, and the whole Christian infrastructure but no life. 2] Those who have the Life of the Lord Jesus Christ but may not have all the spiritual knowledge. A person can identify himself with any one of the groups.

We read in the gospel that the very purpose of the writing of the New Testament is “That you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you might have Life through his name”. Jn.20: 31. And finally we should also realize that, If there is no forgiveness then there is no question of Life anyway, because forgiveness is the route undertaken to reach the goal that is Life.

Unconverted believer?

I was born in a Christian home in a town called Sagar in north India. For many long years although a Christian believer I had a defeated spiritual life. I looked fairly good from outside even saintly. And I always felt that I had the correct doctrines and interpretations of the Bible.

But I discovered soon that I did not have any trace of rebirth or Christ-like life.

The unconverted Believer:

I had no power to overcome, unclean thoughts, greed, lust, anger, lies, pride, selfish-ness, envy, hatred, strife love for money and material. Although I felt that I had the correct teachings, yet I was unable to follow Christ in the real life situations. Honestly I did not have the Joy of salvation, and could never feel or prove myself as a new creation.

In my case the inner man was not following what the outer man was speaking. I had a constant struggle within me, spirit was almost dead inside, totally subdued and surrendered to the flesh. Surely I loved God and was dedicated to him as much as a Muslim performing 5 times prayer with a fiery devotion or a Hindu with a disciplined pooja.

Insufficient faith

My substandard self-generated so-called faith was my own and so corrupt. It was influenced by my knowledge. Just as the human substandard conscience that does not recognise anger as murder or lustful eye as adultery.

I discovered that although I was a believer in the eyes of the world I was still unconverted i.e. my faith was not transforming my life. So unless my faith converts me I could not have the life of Christ. So in my life I was without the power of the Holy Spirit.

Repentance needed

In my subconscious mind I loved the world much and I did not want to give up anything. At the same time I wanted forgiveness of sin and eternal life. My case was similar to the condition of a diabetic patient despite being advised not to eat sweets is in uncontrollable love with sweet things and so he eats them. In my life I was not experiencing any genuine repentance or turning away from sin.

We all very well know that true conversion comes through repentance. Repent and be converted Acts 3.19. Also repentance is provable, ‘That they should repent from sin and turn to God and do good works as proof of repentance’. Acts 26.20.

In most of the churches today there are people who have a belief but without repentance. This creates unconverted Believers. This precisely was also my state.

God offers a package deal to all those who repent and put their trust on him. (Acts 2:38) Forgiveness of sin and the fullness of the Holy Spirit enables us to posses Christ-life on earth.

In John 14:21 Jesus says – He who has my commandments and obeys them, he it is that loves me and I will manifest myself to him.

What are these commandments of Lord Jesus Christ? And are we obeying them? We see them mainly in the Sermon on the Mount in Mt 5,6 and 7.

If we say we obey him then-

• Have we stopped becoming angry?
• Do we forgive those who have wronged us?
• Are we bold and fearless enough to turn the other cheek?
• Do we have power to be silent and bear injustice?
• Can we love our enemies? – Have we stopped praying and fasting for a show?
• Have we stopped giving alms for a reward or self-honor?
• Have we, started trusting God who were ever worried about our tomorrows?

To help a person in obedience he gives the gift of his Spirit. This we read in Acts. 5:32 ‘Christ gives his spirit to those who obey him’ [repent].

In my case, although I believed in Christ but had not repented in practice in my mind and in action, and so the real Christ had not manifested himself to me.

I knew a Christ in theory but not in Person living and working within me. This was because as he proclaimed he reveals himself only to those who obey his commandments. Any faith or belief without obedience is of human origin and it is worthless.

A converted believer obeys the commandments of Christ. John 14:15,15:14.

I had seen the outward actions of Christ but had not known the mind and heart of Christ. This is seen only through the revelation of Christ only to a repentant heart that is ready to obey. The importance of repentance we see clearly when both John the Baptist and Lord Jesus start their ministry by calling on people to repent.

In my unrepentant stage I had this false illusion that my sins are forgiven and I am filled with the Holy Spirit with a confirmed ticket to heaven. In reality I was just an unconverted believer.

Recognizing Jesus as saviour not believing for trust

Many people call themselves believers but they do not have any relationship to the Life of Jesus Christ.

Most of the Christians today have not believed [trusted] in the Lord Jesus Christ. All they have done is recognised Jesus Christ as messiah or saviour of the world. As an example, when a person arrives in a city people start recognising him by his name, degree, looks and address. They just know him by his specific marks of identity.

Recognising a person is not same as trusting a person for salvation. This fact could be clearly understood through the earthly life of Lord Jesus Christ. Although he was almighty and divine he did not use any of his supernatural means to get himself recognised as the Messiah for example he could have raised the dead everyday, walked on the water regularly and run a kitchen from nothing for the hungry people. This would have gathered thousands but contrary to today’s mass evangelism- or information campaigns he did not use any extra-ordinary method of self-propagation. Had he done that people would have recognised him as the Messiah [but does it help?]. But then it would not impact the lives of people in any way. Unless a person turns to Jesus with his only need as salvation, Christ finds it futile to make a person recognise him as the Messiah for academic reasons. He wants people sick with sin only to turn to God. To them he reveals himself to be the life giving spirit.

Lord Jesus did not come with his certificates to prove that he is the Christ. Infact he refused to give any proofs when Pharisees asked for them. God is not impressed by knowledge. Faith becomes Faith and belief becomes belief and trust becomes trust only if there is an exchange of life from Lord Jesus Christ.

My powerless condition

In those days if someone would ask me the question “ if I were saved? I would simply turn the pages to point Bible verses to show that it is written that I am saved [proved], but my powerless earthly life denied me assurance.

I had no power to keep silence in provocations, no power to forgive others or bear injustice. I had pride within me. I sought honour for myself. I had no power to show acts of mercy. I could not stop loving money and material. I was also ashamed of Christ in day today life.

As a hypocrite so called unconverted believer LAW motivated me. Which is always on paper. I had no assurance from within. I followed an external discipline of reading my Bible twice a day, pray regularly, attend all possible meetings, give tithes, give testimonies in detail that how God is blessing [materially]. My teachings of biblical truths were very well backed by centuries of interpretation and theology. And my religious life was filled with episodes of serious evangelical activity. All motivation was for activity, doctrine and discipline.

I had a religious life [external] but no spiritual life [internal]. I had acquired authority in knowledge and yet had no overcoming power of the Holy Spirit. I claimed forgiveness of sin but no turning away from sin.

And although I was terminally ill the so called Doctors [spiritual] were telling all is well, by reminding me of my date of birth, yes some date on the calendar when I was supposed to be Born again by repeating a prayer, to prove in vain that I was alive and well.

The Change The Conversion

The above has been my history, but then by the grace of God one-day the Lord opened my eyes and I could see my sinful state and false self righteous life.

I could undertake true repentance from sin and in return I received forgiveness from God. I believed in Christ as my saviour by trusting in his authority to forgive sins. His holy blood shed on the cross cleansed me whole. My old man crucified with him and I died.

I needed to give up self-righteousness, hypocrisy and pride. In return I received love for God and love for fellow human beings.

He gave me the Holy Spirit, while I started to deny myself, and as a consequence to this I became sensitive to Sin. And my eyes were opened to view the holy, blemish-less spectacular life of Christ. I started to consider SIN [anything that does not please God] as serious.

Today I am saved by grace and justified by the holy blood of Christ shed on the cross. Now I am on a journey towards Christ-likeness. I am far from perfection but have learned to be honest with God. Truth has liberated me from lies. And I have become spiritually alive before God.

What was my problem?

The Lord showed me the problem in my spiritual life. He showed me that I was separated from God and pleased myself always and believed and trusted in my brand of Christian Faith. I was one who heard the word of God for knowledge. I was not willing to be like the hearers of the word who brought about much fruit from the life within. Although I knew the method of salvation but there was no newness of life.

I was misusing the word faith and grace

As a Lawyer’s sole intention is to somehow defeat the punishment and declare a person not guilty. Similarly my sole intention had become justification through logic of Faith and grace with the help of written proofs of the Bible more as loopholes to escape punishment. I was using faith as a reason and so in reality my faith had become a Law. I was escaping like a murderer freed from the gallows not due to repentance or forgiveness but simply because of loopholes in the written Law.

In my subconscious realm a Christian belief had settled in, neither I questioned anything nor I applied it in my life. I had received the spiritual knowledge through earthly means but had not received new life through Christ.

A Cross-less believer

Jesus said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Lk9:23. This verse was not true in my life, as I had not experienced death on the cross and so I was not raised up in the newness of life in Christ. And so I had no power of the Holy Spirit to lead me into victory in practical life.

I chose shortcuts to success in life instead of the patient walk through the straight gate or narrow pathway of suffering that is the hallmark of Christ-life.

The truth is an unconverted believer is afraid to be a looser in the world. And counts earthly gains as blessings. Contrast of this view is found in Acts 3:26 where we read the true definition of blessing as ‘turning us away from iniquities’. An unconverted believer always experiences spiritual defeat, except of-course in the Church or in the company of other believers.

Faith that brings salvation

Our Faith is proved through our Faithfulness. This is trusting God in each moment of our life. Faith does not believe God in principles but in practice. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Heb.11:1

In Luke 5:23,24 Jesus asks the Pharisees in relation to the paralysed man. What is easier to say your sins are forgiven you or arise and walk? The answer is given by Christ and it points out that both utterances are above human capabilities, but in Gods power and authority. He did this to prove that the son of man has the authority and right on the earth to forgive sins. He is Christ and he can forgive. If we have this faith God will grant us salvation.

It is not the quantity or quality of sin that salvation depends but in our faith in Christ’s accomplished work. Salvation is received as a free gift by only those who with humility receive it and are willing to receive it freely because they know very well that they have no means to buy it. We can never receive salvation by becoming worthy to receive it.

Christ’s death on the cross is not to find a loophole in the Law and Justice of God, whereby he can declare a sinful unrepentant sinner a saint. And carry him onto eternal life.

Substitutionary death is not all quantitative but qualitative in substance. That is why it should infuse new life in me. It demands me to be a new creation.

For a Converted Believer –Love is the sign

Lord Jesus took me from LAW [theory] to LOVE [practice]
Lord Jesus brought grace and truth for man.
So I needed grace and truth within myself.

Truth in me and around me liberates me from falsehood and hypocrisy before God, and grace is love for one and all.

In Rom.13:10 we read that if you love someone, you will never do him wrong; to love then are to obey the whole law.

In Gal 5:6 we read ‘For in Christ Jesus the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love’.

A True believer is motivated by love. The two premier commandments that Jesus mentioned were about loving God and loving man. Jesus gave this as an answer to a Lawyer?

Through the cross of Christ – God has loved man, as seen is John 3;16 and with my own cross I love fellow humans and thereby fulfil Gods will. This is the meaning found in 1John 3:16.

If I am motivated in my life by love then true Christ Likeness will be manifested in me. My external life will be according to the Sermon on the Mount and the inner life [the vessel] will be filled with fruit of the spirit mentioned in Gal 5.22 Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. And all the flavours of love will be manifested. As written in 1cor 13:4-6,

Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud. Love is not ill mannered or selfish or irritable. Love does not keep a record of wrongs. Love is not happy with evil, but is happy with truth. Love never gives up.

A True believer will not give into world, Satan and flesh. At the same time he would not resist, retaliate, condemn or judge anyone. He would allow himself to be ill treated by the world. Mt 17:12

A true believer will sincerely desire to pass every test by suffering voluntarily to love one and all.

And a true follower of Christ is proactive in his life and volunteers to do visible good deeds for human beings to manifest his inner Christ-likeness. He becomes a true servant of all.

Conclusion

From the description it is clear that I lived a self-righteous life
Logically I was forgiven and saved but practically I was lost. Why?
It is because I was an unconverted believer.
I was not blood washed but brain washed.
I was a Christian believer because of my background compulsions, not because I made a choice to be one.
Just like a child in a vegetarian family grows up to be a vegetarian.
But when I repented from sin and asked forgiveness with humility and honesty. He gave me a new life of joy, although it has all the ingredients of suffering.

Role of the Holy Spirit

We still have a fleshly body [my will], we have to mortify every day. At the same time we have an ever-abiding indwelling Holy Spirit who lives in us. Holy Spirit has not forcibly possessed us and taken over our free will or life. All he does is, show us clearly the will of God. To this will, I must align my will and consciously choose God’s will and do it. This is living and walking in the Spirit.

Some people misinterpret the statement ” It is no longer I that live but Christ lives in me” to mean that I have lost control over myself. This is not true. When the flesh and spirit struggle, the Holy Spirit gives me the weapons to defeat sin.

Holy Spirit gives me gifts to serve others, and my life is full of the fruit of the Spirit. Gal.5: 22. In relation to me all Holy Spirit does is abide with me, show me, speak to me about Christ’s glory, guide me, reprove me, comfort me and teach me.

Holy Spirit does not live for me the life that is to be lived by me alone. He is my teacher. To make it simple to understand, if I am a student then at the end of the year for examination, I cannot ask my teacher to write the exam on my behalf because he knows better than me.

God is our father who is willing to help us live in a way that delights him. Fullness of the Holy Spirit is not needed for forgiveness of sin. This we receive through the shed blood of Christ when we repent and ask for forgiveness. Holy Spirit is required to live God’s life.

Living by Faith

True Christ-life will be manifested in us if we see the invisible eyes of God and walk consciously in His sight all our life. This is the meaning of living by Faith. Abraham, David, Paul and other heroes of Faith lived likewise. Jesus said man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Jesus himself lived by this word and was found perfect. We read in John 1:14 and the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth [we all have fallen short of this glory Rom3: 23]. This verse shows that the Lord himself was totally perfect when scrutinised through the word of God. This should also be true to us his follower.

Few questions for you

Are you a converted believer?

Do you have the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit that enables you to experience victory in life on this earth? Do you feel an urge to be freed from the bondage of sin? Do you get strength to defeat sin in any form, be it in action thought or attitude? If the answers to these questions are negative then it signals to the fact that you have not been converted yet although a believer of some sort. The good news is that you need not feel hopeless. God loves you and Christ has died for you.

All you need is to repent from sin, ask for forgiveness, deny yourself, take up the cross and follow him.

May God help you to be honest in examining your own life?

लहुलुहान वो चलता जाए – 10

हाँ शिखर कलवरी चढ़ना होगा
वहां भी न उसे रुकना होगा ,
और भी उठकर काठ पर चढ़कर
रक्त ध्वज फहराना होगा – 11

कीलें हाथों और पैरों में
कांटे ताज रखे वह सर में
क्या श्रृंगार हुआ ये प्रभुका
मेरा न्याय हुआ या उसका – 12 पिता क्षमा कर दो इन सब को
ये अनजान न जाने तुझको
बस इनकी तुम आँखें खोलो

पत्थर क्यों ये लुड़क गया है
कब्र का बंधन टूट गया है
